WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO THE PHOTO SESSION?
I wish there was a precise answer to this but there isn't. What I can say is "Everyone shouldn't wear the same outfit or same color clothing." However, having said that, if everyone wants to wear a neutral color pants, say jeans. that would be OK. But one person should not be wearing a black shirt and another a white one. Shoot for neutral color tones for the adults. Kids look great in neutral tones as well but color can really add some pizzaz to the photographs.
Even though everyone should wear different outfits, everyone should coordinate what they are wearing. Try to view your outfits in the "Big Picture." Ask yourself... "If I was wearing both of these outfits right now, would they match?" If the answer is "No." then you should re-coordinate your outfits.
Avoid wearing all white or solid colors. Patterns and texture make photos pop in color and black and white. Again, I tend to favor muted and natural colors over super bright colors for the adults. Children can get away with bright colored patterned or textured outfits but avoid the solid bright colored dress or outfit.
Most importantly, dress in something comfotable. If your not comfortable in your outfit, it will show in the photographs. I want you to be natural and be able to move around comfortably. So dont wear constricting clothing! Wear something fun!
WHAT'S INCLUDED WITH THE SESSION FEE?
Your standard session fee includes up to 1.5 hours (sometimes longer) with me at any location in Sonoma or Marin County. Locations outside of Sonoma and Marin County will require an extra travel fee. (pricing will depend on distance)
One complementary 8"x10" photograph of any image taken during the photo session.
WHERE SHOULD WE HAVE OUR PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION?
I love shooting outdoors and know of several gret locations in Sonoma and Marin County! Forest/rocky areas are the best. My studio photography gear is completely mobile so "anywhere" is the perfect place! :) However, If you have a special location in mind I am always up to shooting there, just let me know.
WHAT'S NOT INCLUDED IN THE SESSION FEE?
Prints or digital files are not included in your session fee.
HOW MANY IMAGES WILL WE SEE FROM OUR SESSION?
Expect about 40-60 images in your gallery to view.
CAN I BUY THE DIGITAL IMAGES FROM MY SESSION?
Yes you can. Digital images are very special. When you purchase digital images you also receive a print release to print the images wherever you like. Because every print lab is different I cannot guarantee the print quality of the print lab you choose. My computer is calibrated to my professional print lab. If you plan on making any large prints I highly recommend purchasing them through me. However, digital images are ony available for purchase. High resolution digital images will be sold for $195.00 each.
I REMEMBER YOU TAKING A SPECIFIC IMAGE FROM OUR SESSION, WHY DON'T I SEE IT IN THE GALLERY?
I want you to look your best and be happy with the photos you purchase. Therefore, I will only show you the best images from the photo shoot. This means that an image you remember being taken could have been blurry from movement, or someone's eye was closed, etc.
WHAT TIME OF DAY WILL WE BE DOING OUR SESSION?
Great question! For outdoor sessions the late afternoon/early evening part of the day works best, when the sun is lowest in the sky. This also works in the morning hours as well.
For studio portrait sessions the time of day is less important as I can set up my photo gear pretty much anywhere and at any time.
Depending on what type of photo session we will be doing we can determine the best time to have the photo session.
DO I REALLY NEED TO FILL OUT THE QUESTIONNAIRE?
Please do! Not only is it our contract, but it helps me get to know you and/or your family better. The better you answer the questions the better I can 'style' your session and taylor it to fit you! Please take a few extra minutes and fill out all the questions on your questionnaire. I promise, it will be worth it!! Also, since it is our contract please make sure to read it completely :)
